My name is Philipp Windgassen and I am a state certified translator and interpreter for the English language with a BA in Translation Studies based in Munich, Germany. I am specialized in engineering and real-estate law and possess extensive experience with various interpreting situations. Apart from simultaneous interpreting, I regularly accompany clients to their appointments at the notaries public, the bank or the public registrar's office.

Several years of experience as an interpreter in various scenarios

I've been publicly sworn in by the president of the District Court of Munich, which allows me to support my clients in different situations. For the following situations, the presence of a state-certified interpreter is either required by law (marked with *) or highly recommended:

• Purchasing real estate at the notary's office *
• Signing a loan contract at the bank *
• Wedding registrations and ceremonies in case at least one partner does not speak German sufficiently *
• Remote-interpreting for clarifying contract details before signing a contract (via MS Teams, Zoom or other apps)

Fees: My fees are based on the JVEG (the law determining the reimbursement of experts in legal proceedings) and are set at a standard hourly rate of 85 EUR / hour (plus 19% VAT). According to abovementioned law, travel time and preparation time is charged at the same rate.
